Christmas Building

Becky, my sister in law and her husband, Jeff, gave me this little building as a Christmas gift.

It's actually a Christmas tree decoration.

It's a nice little chapel.

It's a cardboard building.

It's a very nice size.

A reminder to always keep a look out for wargame buildings!

Town

German armored car in the square.

A small village with just a dusting of snow on the roofs.

French made German amphibious Jeep in the square too.

Troops exit the vehicles.

They search the town.

Nice corner pet shop.

Even has a back door.

This is a nice American style house.

I got a couple of these.

I am pretty happy with the buildings.

I like this small chapel.

Windows were painted well.

Town hall is a nice building, and could be used for an office building or clinic.

This is one that I got a couple of, I think I will re-paint one as a different type of building.

They look good together.

Building Photography

Pegasus 1/72nd scale rocketship.

For good model photos, move in close and don't get out of scale background items.

Try to include people so the scene looks more real, and viewers can recognize the scale.

Good lighting is important too, I take photos late in the afternoon usually to avoid too many shadows.

Get up close to force some perspective, near buildings are out of focus, but middle ground buildings are in focus.

Tourists

The big church used to seat 200 people, now seldom has more than 20 or 30 on Sunday.

The school is now a hotel.  One of the little buildings now functions as the school.

Tourists come from all over to see the old town.

Sometimes they come from very far away.

Rockets bring tourists from very, very far away.

Old Town

A small town in the middle of nowhere.

The large church and school indicate it used to be a larger town.

When the mines closed, people moved away.

Now tourists come to see the old mine and the old buildings.

The few remaining old timers living off the past.

My last JoAnns model purchase was this church. 

I would never have purchased such an expensive item, but 70% off Christmas stuff sale!

It is magnificent!

It is a tremendous item and works for about 600 years, anywhere in the Catholic world.

The hole is for a light that comes with it, I will cover it with a stained glass window.

Just take it out of the box and you are done!

I am sure this building will be in Berlin!

Here it is with the school, much larger, very impressive.  I was blessed to get such an item.

School

This is another JoAnns building, but much larger and more expensive.  It just looks like a city hall, HQ for a commando raid, science center or as it says in front, school.

This is a large building, two stories and a nice flat roof.

The flat roof is good for mounting AA Guns or helicopter landings.

It might even become an embassy building.

I like the balcony, stand there and review the troops.
