B17 and Buck Rogers

Hot Wheels makes a car based on a B-17 bomber.  I plan on making it into a recruiting vehicle.

Decades ago there was a board game based on the TV show Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.  It came with slightly large 1/72nd scale figures.  They came in all kinds of colors, purple and others.  I am planning on painting them white to match the troops on the TV show.

Missle Launchers Ready

The command center looks for the enemy.

The unit flag is planted.

Units are deployed to the north.

Infantry alongside the missile launchers.

All the units are deployed.

Missile Truck

I used flat white for the missiles.

These little applicators are good for reaching into some of the small spaces.

They come in several sizes.

Chassis being given their axles and wheels back.  Body given their interiors.

I use epoxy mixed on bits of aluminum foil.

Painting

Painting missiles. 

Primer painting and then painted white by hand.

I cut out the rivets and put each car in a small plastic box.

This keeps all the bits together.

Missiles being brush painted, hold the front, paint the back.  Let them dry then hold the back and paint the front.  There is a space between missiles that stays OD and a bit of launch rack on the lower side too.

Here Rover

Mars rover by Hot Wheels.  Repainted as repurposed as a military robot.

Exploring new territories.

Finding new things.

Getting good close ups with the camera.

Looking at things never before seen.

Even a $1 toy can provide a new experience with a little imagination.

Black Widow

This is an old Hot Wheels car in a new color scheme.

Hot Wheels does that a lot to make maximum use  of the molds and to give people a better selection.

In Batman 66 TV Show there is a super villain called Black Widow.

She is a criminal that uses a spider theme.

I am trying to get a few Hot Wheels cars for the criminals that face Batman.

1/72nd scale Esci figure for size.

Stargate Airplanes

I stripped off the paint by soaking these in Simple Green for a couple days.

I repainted them with a spray primer.

I used the gray primer as the base color.

This one in front is the original paint job.

The blue is actually some sort of photo decal, and comes off easily.

They fly out of the Stargate and then climb quickly.

WWWII German Planes

Four WWWII German aircraft.

The Me109sg for Stargate.

The Germans developed a small stub wing, stub fuselage version of the ME109 fighter.

The plane was designed to be able to fly through the Stargate to give air support for German ground forces.

These aircraft were organized in flights of four planes.

They used standard very late war German markings.

Airplanes

 I have been painting my tiny Hot Wheels planes in WWII German colors.

Here are the planes.

This late war camo looks very much like Allied camo with the wavy lines.

I think they turned out pretty well.

Dune Buggy

This time it's a Hot Wheels vehicle that works as a near future combat vehicle.

Imagine this vehicle painted up in OD Green military paints.

Shown here with 1/72nd scale WWII US Army troops.

I got a platoon of four of these vehicles, but have not repainted them yet.

Maybe cut a hole in the roof for an MG or grenade launcher.
