West Coaster Haul

At the West Coaster show I picked up a few Tim Mee items.  Air Force and a bazooka.  I use the blue for both air force and navy.  The tan get used as air force, army and navy.

I also got a Tim Mee sailor and this hard hat diver.

Hard hat diver from the rear.

I managed to get a gray tent too.

These MPC tents usually are missing the poles, I use golf tees as poles.

They work pretty well.

Cowboys and Aliens

More West Coaster goodness, Giant of Hong Kong cowboys.

Various space figures.

Space robot goodness from the soldier show.

These guys will work as aliens, space suits or robots.

They work well with the Target sippy cup.

Guard of Honor

I picked up this little bunker at the WestCoaster show.

The generic Marx trees work for many different scales.

FFL type troops in about 1/72nd scale.

Makes a good Maginot Line fort.

Changing of the guard.

The replacement troops march in to the fort.

Troops form a guard of honor.

WWII German Paratroopers attacking!

Old West Wall defenses taken over by Allied troops.

Green bunker from Marx, painted up by me.

Anzio Beach terrain from Aurora from 40 years ago.

Small bunker from Barclay, I got it at a toy soldier show.

60mm Jumpsuits

Blue 60mm troops in the jump suits.

Light, dark and medium blue colors in the jumpsuits.

White troops in jumpsuits.

The faded white should recover well when cleaned.

Brown or terra cotta troops in the jump suit.

Notice their are none with the hole in the base.

Green troops in jumpsuits.

These guys work well for tank crews or helicopter crewmen.

The brownish colors are some of the oldest figures in my collection, from the late 1950's.

Green 60mm troops in the trench coat version.

Notice both silver and red accessories.  See the necktie with trench coat.

White troops in the sports coat without tie, trousers and low quarter shoes.

It is an odd combination of clothing without a tie.  They look rather Red Chinese.

The bases sometimes have holes in them.  MPC toys often had a peg so the troops could be held onto the ship deck or vehicle by inserting the peg into the hole.

See the figure with the pod feet, I think this is a regular figure with a mis-molded base, but I have seen several of these, so it could have been intentional and just rare.

More green troops, this time with both red accessories but also the golden ray gun. MPC space men accessories were in gold.

Helmets in both silver and brown.  Silver was the most common for the military accessories.

The next clothing type is the jumpsuit.  These are in odd colors, a mustard green and gray.  I would like more gray but it seems pretty rare.

60mm Goodness in Red

Ironically the red MPC ring hand figures were sold as firemen!

The accessories were usually white.  This guy has a belt and a rope.

Red soldiers are pretty common.

I use them as firemen, since that's what they were originally sold as, but it gives me enough to fight a volcano.

Most common are the shirt, trousers and high boots versions.

These troops also came in the trench coat version.

Trench coats only come in two poses.

MPC ring hands in green.  Note man in back with belt!

This guy has an SMG and a belt.

In theory, the ring hand men gave you great flexibility in your army because you could mix and match the hats, guns, belts and gear.

New in the package they often came with one item per figure, not very much really.

Being small the little bits often got lost.

The white figures work well for doctors and laboratory technicians.

The white figures really show how dirty these figures can get.

Nice thing is the lab rats don't need a lot of gear.

They also work for sailors in dress whites.

They can also work as mess men in military settings.
