Soviet ARVs

6/19/2017 Add Comment

Right now my project has been to repair and rehabilitate old Soviet models.

To assemble any unassembled kits.

And to primer paint any unpainted resin or metal kits.

I am also primer painting some of the plastic kits.

Particularly the conversions.  This conversion has a cargo of supplies that is removable, but mounted on a sheet of styrene.  Placed together they form an nice supply dump or maintenance location.

Boom Crane

More T34 armored recovery vehicles.  This time with a more complex cargo space.

Shermans are from Paul Heiser in HO 1/87 scale.

The Soviets used a number of Sherman tanks and they were generally well liked.

This is a Lee / Grant armored recovery vehicle.

Most Soviet ARVs don't have the luxury of a boom crane.

Artillery Crews

In my ruleset, an artillery piece must have a crew equal to the size of the gun in centimeters, rounded down.

So a Soviet 122mm gun needs a 12 man crew.  That includes drivers, observers and those servicing the gun.

Some resin figures in the same pose as the plastic guy were included.

They were different colors, I added the bases.

Soviet Assault Troops

This set of assault troops has a nice mixture of poses and weapons.

They do have a bit of flash on them.

But I still plan on getting more of them.

They come with a bonus figure of a female MP directing traffic.

Submarines

This is a 1/2400 scale Soviet Typhoon nuclear ballistic missile submarine.

I have a whole navy of Modern Soviet ships.

I found this little submarine at my local dollar store.

Short but tall.

I got a few of them.

I figure they will work as an unknown type submarine in games.

I got a small fleet of them and painted them up in a couple different schemes.
