Horses

The small bushes I picked up at a model railroad store.

They just peel and stick.

I add a little extra Goo glue to hold them in place.

They are easy and realistic.

Adding a few of these barriers makes a quick equestrian center.

Not much difference between the Civil War and World War Two, and civilian ones today.

Horse cavalry was disbanded by the US Army but troops in the field asked for it again.

Even today the US Army has fielded tiny units for ceremonial purposes and also in Afghanistan.

Riding

Troops white wash the barriers to preserve them and make it easier to see them.

Troops riding the circut.

Troops jumping two at a time.

Make the training harder and harder as they continue.

Troops have to learn to ride and handle guns.

Training has to go on day after day.

Horses

I use the Strelets WWI British Horse Cavalry as WWI to WWII US Army Horse Cavalry.

Horses and riders are trained by riding them around in a circuit and jumping various obstacles.

It allows the horse and rider to get used to moving across country, yet in a controlled environment.

Barriers are both short and tall.

The horses in this set stand up well.

And the riders are engineered well so they stay on the horses.
