60 mm Tim Mee Army Men

1/13/2009

As a kid I had large 60 mm size Army Men and recently started buying them again. The Tim Mee Toys Armed Forces by Kevin Konen. This book was recommended to my by Kent from Toy Soldier Headquarters. The book covers Tim Mee Toys and Processed Plastic Company's soldiers, sailors, airmen, vehicles, artillery, accessories, advertisements, generally covering what would be considered from the WWII era forward. It does not cover Western, Pioneer sets. There are many, many examples of seldom seen and lesser known pieces from these makers included in the book for the more serious collector.

This book is the second edition and is 44 pages, plus 4 slip in additional pages of items that have been noted since it was printed originally. There are over 300 photos in total.

The author is first and foremost a collector, and enjoys input from fellow collectors about pieces that he may not yet be aware of or to just talk army toys. He is a good guy and have helped me a lot with new information about old models. I just ordered the book and it should arrive any day, an update when it gets here.
