Soviet Monument

10/08/2014

A while back MRS Bunkermeister spotted this little gem at Dollar Tree.

It was unpainted but only a dollar!

I knew right away my miniature Comrade Stalin would want one.

I painted the base in "concrete" color.  The band around the middle is brass, so simulate the part with an inscription about the glories of the Soviet Union.

The upper part is gold paint and then bright gloss red for the star.

The soldier pictured here is a Pegasus 1/72nd scale figure.  This will look great in a town square or on top of a major building.  It just shows you gotta look out for stuff you can use all the time.  I am lucky my wife keeps here eyes peeled for such things too!
