Cossacks and Others

Another view of the WWI British soldier with new arms.

This soldier now uses a cane to get around.

New arms and new base.

I had to put new arms on four of these figures, here are the other three.

More Cossacks, upgraded to WWII Soviets.  Most new parts are Plastic Soldier Company.

Volksstrum Men

Pegasus, Fujimi and Airfix.  I have a lot of Pegasus guys in the spares box that needed arms attached, they will mostly end up as Volksstrum.

More Indiana Jones and another Fujimi, this time with a Prieser head.

Middle figure is Strelets, Russian Cossack, now part of the German army!

Ykreol figure with British paratrooper Thompson, and on the other end an Airfix Civilian with a Bren gun.

More VS troops.

Airfix WWI British guy.  I needed his signal flags for my WWII German navy and so now he has a rifle and a pointing hand.

Troops Restored to Health

This pirate figure is now an honored wounded German veteran.  Man with hammer originally had a pickax.

Afrika Korps man has a new head!

All of these troops were from the spares box and have now become useful members of the collection.

British Mortars

As part of my junk troops revitalization program, I have put together some British troops.

I took a variety of troops, Airfix and Fujimi and swapped hands and bits around.

I made them up into mortar crews.

My Airfix British Infantry lack mortar support.

So these guys will be very helpful to them.

Spaceman

 

I have always wanted soldiers with a space suit that is similar to this one.

So I purchased these little wire pieces.

They are also sold as jewelry findings at Michael's and similar craft shops.

These are a rather soft wire.

I also got some map pins and resin cast some US flamethrower tanks.

I cut the head off of the figure, and filed a groove in the backpack for the wire piece.

I drilled a hole in the neck of the figure and then glued on the map pin, wire, and backpack.

I glued the map pin with gap filling super glue.

The wire and backpack got glued with Goo rubber cement.  The figure is an Airfix Luftwaffe figure.

Camouflage Gun Bunkers

Caesar Miniatures French Infantry.

I painted these bunkers as the four color camouflage used by the French and US Army.

Most major nations had defenses of this type.

Different gun barrels could be substituted to make larger caliber guns.

The cupola could be armed with machine guns.
