A small wire bit from Joanns.

A resin cast flame thrower.

Cheapo Chinese copy of an Airfix US Marine.  His head has been replaced with a map pin.

The flamethrower and wire get glued to the back of the soldier.

I use rubber cement called Goo sold at model railroad stores.

Space Soldiers and Ray Guns

A small squad of space soldiers.

Rocket launchers are important because being recoilless they don't push the shooter around in space or on low gravity worlds.

These figures were cheap Chinese knockoffs of Airfix British Paratroopers and US Marines in 1/32nd scale, but these are 1/72nd scale.

The weapons are very plain so they work well for ray guns.

Like the rocket launcher, the ray gun has no recoil.

I have always wanted soldiers with a space suit that is similar to this one.

So I purchased these little wire pieces.

They are also sold as jewelry findings at Michael's and similar craft shops.

These are a rather soft wire.

I also got some map pins and resin cast some US flamethrower tanks.

I cut the head off of the figure, and filed a groove in the backpack for the wire piece.

I drilled a hole in the neck of the figure and then glued on the map pin, wire, and backpack.

I glued the map pin with gap filling super glue.

The wire and backpack got glued with Goo rubber cement.  The figure is an Airfix Luftwaffe figure.
