German Sub

7/11/2010

Unicraft makes some very unusual models. And when they say for experienced modellers they really mean it. This 1/72nd scale kit is another WWII German submarine to add to my collection.

The Grundhai was designed to "fly" underwater using the small wings with outboard propellers on the sides. It was also designed to crawl along the bottom on tank tracks.

This kit is a resin model that requires a delicate hand.

You know the model is fragile when the kit comes with a disclaimer! The subject is totally unique, but the model is very easy to break.

Here are the parts laid out as they come from the box. You can see the Revell 1/72nd scale Kriegsmarine sailors are eager to help!
